The City of Greenwood provides to its residents sewer service and trash disposal. New customers are required to fill out a service agreement for trash and sewer
. There is a $75.00 deposit if you own your home and a $125.00 deposit if you rent. When you move, complete a stop service agreement
The sewer portion of your monthly bill is based on the winter average water usage. The City will average the water consumption for December, January and February. A formula is used to calculate your monthly bill based on the average. You are billed on that average consumption for the next year (April through March). The minimum monthly bill is $39.00.
The City has contracted with Municipal Waste Services for trash services. Trash is picked up weekly. This includes your regular trash, recycling, and yard waste. To make the trash pick up more manageable the city is split into three sections. See the attached list for the day of the week your area will be serviced. Yard waste needs to be in tall brown paper sacks, 10 bags per week are allowed. Yard waste is picked up weekly year round. Recyclables include: Everything except styrofoam and glass. Glass can be recycled at the purple Ripple Glass Bins located at Price Chopper, 251 SW Greenwich Dr., Lee's Summit, MO 64082. The monthly trash service fee is $16.00.

The following holidays will be observed; all trash pick up will be delayed one day following a holiday.
New Year's Day
Sewer/Solid Waste bills go out on the 1st of each month and are due by the 21st of each month.
Household Hazardous Waste
The City of Greenwood has entered into an intergovernmental agreement with the MARC Solid Waste Management District for collection of household hazardous waste. More information on HHW.
Water Service for residents within Jackson County is provided by Jackson County Public Water Supply District #12, located at 304 N. Ranson Road, Greenwood, Missouri 64034, 816-537-6856. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They are closed from noon to 1 p.m. daily. ( $100.00 deposit required) www.jacowater12.com
Water Service for residents which reside in the Allendale Lake Meadows Subdivision is provided by Cass County Public Water District #6, located at 18711 S. State Route J, Raymore, Missouri 64083, 816-331-2455. Their hours of operation are Monday thru Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ( $135.00 deposit is required)
